Contrast Ratio
Measurement of the difference in the light intensity between
the brightest white and the darkest black. A higher
contrast ratio produces a sharper image and colour
representation. (i.e. 1000:1 is better than 400:1)
Response Time
Total length of time for a pixel to switch on or off.
Basic LCD's have response time of around 20ms (40
frames/sec). For gaming performance 8ms or lower is
better since it can produce fluid motion at 60 frames/sec.
Brightness
This is measured in nits. Most LCD's have a brightness
of 300 cd/m2 or greater. CRT's are around 100 cd/m2.
